Stieg Larsson wins Galaxy British Book Award!
All right! At the Nibbies tonight, Stieg Larsson walked away with the Books Direct Crime Thriller of the Year award at the Galaxy British Book Awards. I always knew he could do it. Wish you were here, Stieg.
"Wish you were here, Stieg." I think we all feel it is so unfair that he did not live to experience this, but it must certainly be an odd feeling for your, having translated all his books.
So as we cannot congratulate Stieg, we must congratulate you. And perhaps it is quite fair if the stardust rubs off on the translator just for once - I think you are neglected far too often, considering how important your work is.
Hi Dorte, Ali, and Maxine, and thanks for the nice wishes! Will see all/some of you in Bristol for sure, have bought the tickets. Looking forward to meeting everyone in person!
Thanks for letting me know about the translation for the third book--I knew it was just being held! As for the Millenium walk, you should check it out!
I'm reading The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo right now and tried to find a map of Hedestad. On an Amazon blog you said you'd post the map that was in the Swedish edition on your blog. Could you direct me to that map? I'm totally engrossed in the story. Good thing I'm a teacher so have lots of time in the summer to read! Thanks!
hraser, it turns out that the map is only available in the Swedish edition, not the English ones. Don't ask me why. Write me an email and I'll give you the address to send an SASE, since I have to make photocopies and can only snailmail them. The maps do help a lot in following the story and all the different Vangers.

ReplyDeleteany chance you can email a pdf of the map? Even though I've just started reading today, I anticipate a can't-put-it-down experience. Thanks.
